Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Maryland

My friend and I were intoxicated coming home Saturday night. I had her phone, and accidentally left it in the cab. The cab driver stole it for his own personal use, making international phone calls. Am i liable to replace her phone?

She's responsible for her own phone. The cab driver is responsible for not making international calls. The cab driver essentially stole minutes -- a crime. See where I'm going with this?
