Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Maryland

As a teacher, I received a curt email from a parent who is upset that their child is too young to compete in a competition that is for grade levels at least 3 years above this child. It was rather intimidating and used phrases like adults descriminating against his child because of his age. At the end, I noticed that it was sent from his work email, his law firm. I feel that was done as an intimidation to make me bend the rules for his child. Is it legal or ethical to use that "intimidation"factor?

It is not illegal or unethical for a lawyer to send a personal letter on business letterhead.
