Legal Question in Personal Injury in Maryland

I got into a car accident ( today) & hit a 4 door bmw ( car) from behind. I scrapped her bumper and scratched it a bit. However, instead of go through insurance , I told her I would pay out of pocket. A police officer came to the site and filled out the top of our forms, but not the entire form. We were responsible for filling it out ( address, ID, Vehicle info) she only filled out her name and address, and exchanging our info. So now I'm waiting for her estimate to pay for her damages, however I wasn't sure if she would come back with any medical problems or try to sue me. What should I do?

If she comes back with medical problems or tries to sue you, you should report it to your car insurance company IMMEDIATELY. In return for you paying your car insurance premium, the insurance company has a "duty to defend" you. In short, this means that they hire an attorney (at no extra cost to you) to defend you. In other words, if she comes back with medical damages, etc., the least of your concerns is raising your insurance rates. You will need an attorney ASAP.

Best of luck.******The above is for informational purposes only and does not create an attorney-client privilege.*******
