Legal Question in Personal Injury in Maryland

hotel accident

elderly foreign father with no U.S. health insurance,

fell off bed when car crashed into hotel room. driver

- rental car and no license. father - possible minor

back injury and luggage/personal effects damage. is

hotel partly liable? where do i go from here?

The driver of the auto would be the primarily responsible party, and there should be insurance on the rental vehicle. The driver may also be covered by his own policy although if he didn't have a license, probably not. Of course, if the driver was not authorized to use the rental car, they won't cover it either. The hotel has no liability but may have coverage for medical expenses incurred on their premises by patrons even though they're not legally responsible. Check with the hotel on that.
