Promissory Note

If I promised to pay someone for a piece a of property and it is in writing and I failed to do so, but they did not sign the agreement, Is it valid?

If the "property" is real estate, a contract must be in writing to be enforceable. So if the seller never signed your "offer"/promise, there is no agreement. If the item is personal property, like a car, and you now have possession of the item, there is an enforceable agreement because the seller has performed his/her obligation.
