Legal Question in Product Liability in Maryland

A person who bought a defected product from my business is using an open online forum to bash my business which is causes me a drop in sales. We have tried to rectify the issue with the individual but to no avail. It has in turn brought on us some harrassment through phone calls, ppl stoping by our house and taking pictures and much stress on the family. Is there anything we can do?

Yes, there is something you can do. You hire a lawyer, who will likely start by sending a "cease and desist" letter to the people who opened the online forum. If that doesn't work, the attorney will need to go to Court and seek an "injunction" (a Court order) forcing these folks to stop what they are doing. Of course, you are up against these folks' first amendment right to free speech and certainly to warn the public if you are putting a defective (and hopefully not dangerous) product out on the market. Be prepared for a fight.

Best of luck.*******The above is for informational purposes only and does not create an attorney-client privilege.********
