Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Maryland

End of tenancy

Our lease ended on August 31, 2002, but we actually vacated (i.e. returned keys and parking permits) on August 23, 2002? Was our end of tenancy effectively terminated on the 23rd of August or on the 31st?

Re: End of tenancy

It all depends on the term of your lease (i.e., month to month, term of a period, etc.) as well as the provisions for the termination of the lease.

I suggest you spend some time reviewing other questions and answers on this BBS to locate information that may assist you. Several of the questions I have answered may be helpful.

Re: End of tenancy

Depends on what condition you are seeking to enforce/defend based on the "end of tenancy." Have me or another qualified atty. review the lease or other document (or verbal agreement?) for a better response.
