Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Maryland

I have home owners association dues that I have not pd in 2 years. I got served to appear for court to pay outstanding fees. My question is I never received a notice from my association and when I questioned them I was told that they forgot to send notifications. Can I beat this in court because of not being given proper notification. Thanks

You are still liable for the dues but shouldn't be for late fees and collection costs. I suggest you offer to pay the actual dues in exchange for a full release and dismissal of the suit.
