Upon moveout what is considered normal wear and what is considered damage

Upon moving out of my rental i was notified i was liable for new carpet and hard wood floors i was in the property for 3 years with pets as noted on the lease but the pets are very house trained and the so called damage to me is just normal wear and tear i need a legal definition please?

Oh boy -- I've handled some of these cases over the years and they can be difficult. There is no hard and fast definition of "normal" wear and tear -- it's just whatever a reasonable person would think is "normal". It sounds in your case as if there may be other issues (prior tenants perhaps) and sticky issues of proof on both sides of the case.
