Re: oral agreements on when to move in

Your question demonstrates the problems of an agreement that has not been written down. From your question, it would appear that there is an oral agreement between you and the girl for you to sublet her apartment. More information, however, is needed before your question can be answered. First, what was the starting date that you agreed begin paying rent? Second, did you agree to pay any of the girl's back rent? Third were you already on the lease (if so, you would be responsible to the landlord for the rent even though you did not live there)?

If your question is resubmitted with these facts included, a more precise answer can be given.
