Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Maryland

Real Estate Contract backdating

I'm currently still under contract and have not settled. The sellers have back dated some docs and also my realtor has forged my signature on some docs. I no longer want the house because no one is being honest. I told my realtor i wanted out and now the seller want to sue for breach of contract. Is there anyway I can get out without breaking the law like they all have?

Does backdating make a contract void?

Re: Real Estate Contract backdating

Clearly more information is necessary to address your question. If you signed and agreed to a contract to purchase a home, you are bound to the terms that you agreed to and signed for. You are likely not bound by documents that you did not agree to and did not sign and, except to the extent (if any) that you gave actual or apparent authority for the actions that you described. If your agent did not represent your interests, it would be worth your while to: (1) hire a professional team which represents your interests immediately; (2) Get legal advice immediately and consider consulting an attorney on future real estate purchases;(3) If you are dealing with a real estate salesperson, consider speaking with the real estate broker who supervises the work of the salesperson(s) you are working with; (4) If the broker cannot or will not resolve your concerns, you should carefully study statutes regulating the behavior of real estate brokers and agents and consider a complaint to the real estate board for the unethical behavior and a claim against the real estate fund if you have suffered losses due to unethical behavior.
