Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Maryland

Release Deed

My spouse and I have a timeshare and have attempted to give it back to the timeshare company to not have to pay maintenance fees. They wouldn't agree to that but did say that they would offer us a ''release deed'' after we satisfy the maintenance fees. What we want to know is, will the ''release deed'' avail us of all liabilities?

Re: Release Deed

The release deed is basically your giving the property back to the timeshare company. Once you do that, you shouldn't be responsible for any more expenses going forward, but you should take care to get this in writing. Perhaps you should explore putting your timeshare in the hands of a company that specializes in selling timeshares. If there is any market for it, they might be able to sell it quickly and you'll at least realize something from your investment.
