Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Maryland

Renting room, don't feel safe with the roomate

On 8/30/02 I moved into a house. My roommate owns the house, and rents the second bedroom to me. After 2 days he started making lewd comments to me, asking me personal questions about my sex life, and deciding that because I'm female (something he sees as inferior) he can call me ''bitch'' and ''cunt''. As this wasn't bad enough now he refuses to leave my room while I am in it, is trying to coirse me into making porn for him, constantly trying to get me drunk.

Last night was the last straw. My boyfriend came over. My roomate listened to us being ''intimate'' at the door while masterbating. We were not loud at all, and even had music turned up as not to offend anybody. My roomate had stayed up that night just so he could listen.

My lease doesn't have a grace period, but I want to know if I don't feel save in my house after only 4 days of living their, is their anyway that I could get my rent and security deposit back, and well as voiding my 3 month lease?

Based on the information you provided, you should be able avoid the lease. Other matters present themself from your question. You should speak with an attorney as a demand from an attorney may get a better response than your request to terminiate the lease.
