lie detector test

we are filing suit against my daughters ex-employer for sexual harassment-the attorney that we have hired has requested that she take a lie detector test, well she did and it cost us $1800.00 she passed with flying colors. is this normal for our attorney to request this be done??

Re: lie detector test

It may be a bit unusual, but the important questions are why did he do this, how will he use the info, what does he hope to gain? The information is not admissible in court, so its value is more likely to prove to the other side that the alleged wrongful conduct actually occurred. In that way, the test results can be used to argue for a good settlement.

If your daughter is uncomfortable with the attorney, the test, or anything else about the case, she should candidly discuss it with her attorney and not move on until her concerns are satisfactorily addressed.

Good luck.
