Legal Question in Traffic Law in Maryland

bench warrant revoked?

My husband had a court date about 3 weeks ago. It was a postponement of a prior court date from August. He was in an accident before the first court date and thus the original postponement. With injuries still stemming from that accident he was in surgery 2 days before his new court date. While he had been released from the hospital he was unable to travel anywhere per doctors orders. I sent a letter requesting a new court date along with the doctors documentation prohibiting him from any traveling or driving, etc... and now he's recieved a bench forwant for an FTA. Do we have any options besides the obvious turning himself in. I don't even know how we'd do that to be honest, he's still laid up and on crutches, at best. It was a must appear traffic offense. Thanks.

Re: bench warrant revoked?

If you get an attorney, it should be possible to quash this warrant and get a new court date. I have been very successful with this in the past, but some judges in Anne Arundel County are very difficult. Isa that where your court date is located? It would certainly be more likely to quash the warrant if the motion was written by an attorney. Please contact me with more details and documentation and we can get working on this ASAP for a reasonable rate.
