Legal Question in Traffic Law in Maryland

Driving on suspended license

I was pulled over two weeks ago and the police officer discovered, to my surprise, that my driver's license was suspended. Apparently, I had not paid a ticket and failed to show up in court more than two years ago when I was in college. I never received the notice to show up in court because I was in school at the time.

I now have to show up in court again for driving on a suspended license. I went to court already to pay off the fine that initially suspended my license.

I plan on taking a certified copy of my driving record to court to show the judge that I took care of things. My question is...is there anything else I need to do? Do I have to some how prove that I did not receive the notice? Do I really need a lawyer to defend me for something like this?

Driving on suspended license

Driving on a suspended license carries a jail time. Do you need a lawyer? You are better off having someone who knows the system arguing your case. You are gambling money (saving it) against jail. Your bet.
