Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Maryland

My aunt was suppose to receive an advance from the court on her cousins estate, they sent all parties involved a check but they clearly had the wrong person when they sent my aunt's check to another lady. Apparently the other lady cashed it and now the court appointed attorney says they will try to get it back.

I was told that attorney's have insurance that cover this part of their job, shouldn't this attorney turn this in and give her the money now and then he can pursue the money he gave out wrongfully to the other person.

If no, what can she do to get this money paid to her now?

Thanks

You aunt needs to hire an attorney. It will depend on how the check was made out. Contact me to discuss.
