Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Maryland

I am looking to see cost to have my single owner condo deed put into a "Life Este Deed" left to my partner if I did so it can pass to him w/o probate. How much does this cost if I go through an attorney or paralegal? Also, can I just do this myself and just pay recording fee at local county office. The condo is located in Frederick, MD. There is NO mortgage on it. Thnaks! Tom

Hi and thanks for your post. No fee is set by law - this varies firm to firm. You may wish to call local real estate firms in your area to get an idea of fees. Note that by law a paralegal may not prepare a deed for recording in this state and it must contain a certificate of preparation by an attorney or a party to the transaction.
