Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Maryland

Grandchild's rights to estate?

My grandmother's estate has been sold in Laurel, Md., and I was wondering what legal recourse me and my siblings have to make a claim on the sale's proceeds. My father, her son, has passed away. Two other children and another grandchild remain alive. My grandmother is still alive, but incapacitated. She is being taken care of by my aunt, whom I believe has power of attorney. I'm not sure if I have any standing to ask for a percentage of the estate's sale.

Re: Grandchild's rights to estate?

An estate is not created until your grandmother is deceased. It is unclear to me that you have any rights to the property. Normally, you would only have rights to the property if your name was on the deed or the property was held in trust for your benefit.
