Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Maryland

Heir Property

My Grandmother recently passed away. My siblings and I are listed on the deed to my Grandmother's home (in addition to my Grandmother). Do we need legal assistance in order to remove my Grandmother's name from the deed. The property taxes are currently in her name.

Re: Heir Property

Yes, you do need legal assistance. Your grandmother's estate needs to go through probate. This would probably include her share of the house, which is probably owned as tenant in common with you and siblings. Assuming no one else puts in a probate claim to your grandmother's share of the house, the personal representative and/or executor will issue a new deed during the probate process.

Consult an attorney.
