Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Maryland

Presently i reside in a home which me and my brother inherited. My mother put a codicil to the will which states i have 10 years of exclusive rights to the house. I want to enforce the will for the remaining 8 years and keep my sibling away from the house. What steps would i take to legally enforce the will?

At the outset, you should confirm that an estate was opened for your mom. If no one opened an estate, you will want to consider doing that right away. The distribution of any real estate should be handled in the estate (including any deed or other document giving any interest to the property). In some situations an estate will need to deed property into a trust under the terms of the will.

While I hope the general information above helps, it is not a substitute for legal advice and the specific facts of your situation may affect how the law applies to you.
