You need to retain a comp lawyer to help you with your claim. You probably don't have a civil case against your employer for laying you off, but the Commission will not look kindly on his actions and it may benefit you on your permancy award. If you are presently able to go back to work in your old field of employment, you would likely be eligible for unemployment compensation. If you cannot do your old work anymore because of your injury, you may be entitled to vocational rehabilitation benefits.

Bottom line: Get a lawyer!
