Re injured back after receiving settlement

In 1993 I blew out to disc in my lower back. Had operation in 1994 to which I was told that I had 35%nerve damage to my back...After 3yrs. I setteled and was awared a small amount of money but life time medical for my back.2 wks later I was in a car accident to which i Had truma to my lower back. WC stated that my lifr time medial no longer applyed because they could not seperated the old injury from the new...There is not one day that goes by that I do not suffer from pain in my back...What I was told was it correct?

If your doctor is able to state that the continued treatment you need relates back to the comp claim as opposed to the auto accident, you have a right to continued medical, and if the carrier refuses it, you can ask for a hearing in front of the worker's comp commission.
