Legal Question in Workers Comp in Maryland

what year

i hurt myself working in washington dc im about to go for perm total .what i would like to know is what year did they pass the law where the insurence co does not have to pay you for the rest of your life. i know now its only 500 weeks but what year did they pass the law.thank you for your time.

My current understanding of DC workman's compensation benefits is that the 500 week limitation applies only to permanent partial disability(PPD)income benefits and that a worker who has been determined to be totally and permanently disabled is still entitled to receive benefits for the duration of his disability which could be for the rest of his life.
