Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Massachusetts

My wife is renting an apartment. Last week, the bathroom ceiling is dripping water. She emailed the property manager but still the issue has not been fixed. Due to her work, she does not have the capacity to deal with the issue continually. But when I tried to call for her, the manager refuses to talk to me because I'm not on the lease, even my wife explicitly let the manager know she authorizes me to do so. Can we setup something to force the management office to let me help my wife to deal with the issue?

He should be willing if your wife has confirmed your approval. In any case she can draft a sign an authorization or power of attorney and they will have to abide by it. If not she may have t take them to housing court to get the issue corrected by the Judge with a court order.
