Legal Question in Banking Law in Massachusetts

Confidentiality

I hired a general contractor to build a house. He recommended a mortgage broker that I used. I believe, now, that the mortgage broker was sharing my financial information with the GC so that he could continuously hit us with cost overruns because he knew what we had in the bank. The GC stated as much during mediation of a small claims case I brought forth when he said ''you ran out of money... I know your financials''. My question is what recourse do I have against the broker if he did, indeed, give the GC my financial information. I think they were a team and that this is a common MO with them.
