Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Massachusetts

bankruptcy

I am in need to file bankruptcy. I am now disabled and on SSDI and having trouble paying credit cards. My question is I am on the title(deed) of the house I live in. The mortgage however is in my brother's name only due to my credit issues. If I file bankruptcy will it in any way affect my brother's credit? I am not on the home mortgage only listed on Deed and we share no common credit or bills together? Any advise would be of great assistance. thank you.

Re: bankruptcy

Assuming that you are not also on the note, your bankruptcy filing will not affect your brother's credit profile. That said, you need to consult with an experienced bankruptcy attorney in your area to properly review your situation and explore all of your options.
