Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Massachusetts

Filing Bankruptcy

I am about to file bankruptcy, I have all the necessary forms and instructions but I am unsure about one thing. When I fill out the ''debtors'' part, do I put the name of credit card companies, or the names of the collections agencies that are now handling the debt? I no longer receive letter, calls, etc from the actual credit card compaies so I am unsure. Thank You

Re: Filing Bankruptcy

You can put the names of the collection agencies as agent for credit card company. You want to be sure the holder of the debt receives notice that you have filed bankruptcy. If you are in doubt, you could also list both.
