Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Massachusetts

I live in Massachusetts. I have power of attorney for my mother and father. I would like to declare bankruptcy for my mother who has 4 credit cards.

She has had the cards for a quite a while now. She has alzheimer's, with the last 2 or 3 years progressing rapidly. My father has a progressive form of dementia and is a 5 time stroke survivor. They do not own a home and have gone through all their savings for in home help.

We simply can not make the payments anymore and maintain help for them.

I also have a card in my name for 2 of her cards. She is the primary card holder on all cards.

Can I file for bankruptcy for her?

It is doable, but a better approach is to seek a guardianship.
