Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Massachusetts

I lost my job,spent all my saving on bills, got sick as a dog with a blood infection and almost died. Cash my retiament to pay my mortgage and that almost gone. I trying to get disability but that a long ordeal. My question is could I claim bankruptcy if I don't have a job?
