Legal Question in Business Law in Massachusetts

Business Travel - Roommate Required

Hi -

Are there any laws governing business travel for a large corporation? My company is holding a mandatory out of state meeting. They are requiring us to share hotel rooms. This makes me extremely uncomfortable. I do not feel okay about sleeping in the same room as any of my coworkers. Do I have any options?

thank you.

Re: Business Travel - Roommate Required

I am not aware of any legal remedy that would cover your situation. However, you may want to have a sit down with your HR person. An intelligent HR rep would appreciate your concerns and may be able to accommodate you. He or she may also be willing to allow you to stay at a less expensive hotel or offer some other pragmatic solution.

There is precedent for single room accomodation for individuals with disabilities, but that was not part of your question.

Maybe someone else knows another angle. Good luck.
