Legal Question in Constitutional Law in Massachusetts

I'm in a situation in which I've missed my jury duty courtdate. This is the first time this happened and I'm worried that I'm in big trouble. I do have a reason for this but it might incrimminate me in some way that I can lose my job of 25+years. My question is will I need counsel to accompany me to the courthouse to settle the matter, hopefully to reschedual me to another date?

Depends on what the reason was. Generally your employer would not be notifyed as to why you missed jury duty-however again depending on the reason you could be charged with a crime or reported. 774-745-0562

You should contact the court. Many times, you are not charged with a crime. Some courts however, particularly busier courts, will file a complaint for "Juror failing to attend" which is a crime. Although no competent attorney would ever tell someone charged with a crime to go-it-alone...this is as close as the case gets. Almost every single defendant, particularly those with no record, simply request a new date for jury service and the case is dismissed (often 'prior to arraignment'--meaning no record).
