Legal Question in Construction Law in Massachusetts

the contractors who renovated our building installed the windows inappropriately, now it will cost a lot to fix their mistake. They bought the entire building, renovated it, then sold it off as condos to individual owners. We are current owners. They did the work 5 years ago. Do we have any recourse?

You may in fact have recourse. To minimize the expense of each individual unit owner, you may want to consider bringing suit as an association. You should know, however, that developers frequently try and make it difficult for unit owners to file suit by writing the condominium documents a certain way. So you may also need to amend your condominium documents. ...depending upon when this happened, and when you learned about the window issue, you may need to file suit ASAP. So I recommend you contact an attorney at once!
