YES! You should call them back. One of the worst things you can do is ignore debt collection. When contacted by a debt collector (law firm or not) you want to: A) Get their name and address; and, B) Take good notes on exactly what they are threatening you with, how they are contacting you, and when they are calling.

Once you have this information, call me for some free advice. If they are breaking the law, by for instance LYING and claiming they have filed a complaint against you when really they have not, OR claiming to be a law firm when really they are not, you may be entitled to $1,000 PLUS have all your attorney's fees paid.

Even if they are not breaking the law, you might be able to settle with them for substantially less than you owe, and thereby avoid the stress and hassle of being hauled into Court. HOWEVER, before you settle any debt, it is best to consult an attorney to advise you and assist in negotiations. Sometimes my fee can be covered by the resulting discount in settlement that I negotiate, other times a one time flat fee between $100 and $500 is required.

Please read the information available on the Consumer Protection section of my website at: www.SkinnerLawpllc.com and more generally at: www.StopCalls.Net.

Good Luck!
