Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Massachusetts
I had a credit line (no specifc amount ) with a steel company the bill got up to 48,000
my business is struggling and i have been making payments of 500.00 to 1000.00 to this company
the bill is now down to 28.000 and i continue to make payments
I received a call from this companies attorney last month
I told the attorney i was doing the best i can and was making monthly payments
he apologized to us for calling and said his client did not tell him we were making payments
two days ago the owner of the company comes to my place of business and tells me my payments of 1000.00 are not good enough and that he was tired of carring my weight
he said i was to go to bank and get a loan to pay him off
he then questions me about a trip he heard i went on baxk in march of 2009
he was wonderinf why i had money to go on trip if i can not pay off my bill
he then says that he also noticed i am not buying all my steel from him and wants to know why and where i am buying it
does he have a right to question me and embarras me in front of my employees and to tell me my payments are not good enough . my employess told me that the last time i sent employee there to buy stock this company was questioning my employee as well about my business

This supplier/creditor has no right to act in this fashion. You should enlist the aid of your attorney to get this relationship balanced and back on the right track.
You have the right to better treatment from your suppliers even if you are paying off an overdue balance.
