Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Massachusetts

How are payment plans determined in small claims court? I plan on taking a former friend to small claims court to regain the money she owes me. I realize she can't pay it all back at once. And would be willing to have a payment plan put into place. However will have to be through the courts as she's made agreements with me and hasn't followed through. Do the courts go based solely on income, tax information and bank accounts? Or do they take into consideration rent food and basic necessities? Of course I understand she needs a roof over her head, food running water etc. However some of her bills I woidlnt go as far as to say are necessary. For example. Her iPhone and a plan that has all the bells and whistles, cable TV which she has more channels than necessary, internet and WiFi which none of are basic necessities.
