Legal Question in Criminal Law in Massachusetts

hello, In 1995 I was 23 yrs old Marine stationed in Camp Pendleton CA I bought a hand gun legally in the exchange on base. When I got out of the service in 1996 I moved to my home town Providence RI. Some time in 1999 my gun was stolen from my house. I did not report the incident because I did not have a Blue card which you need in RI to have a HAND GUN, Also I had about 50 dollars worth of pot taken as well. I am 39 yrs old married for 2 yrs and with our first baby on the way due in Oct, I want to do the right thing what should I do?

You should talk to an attorney in a private forum (this is not private). You do not want that gun to surface at a crime scene, but it has been almost 12 years now. DO NOT MAKE ANY STATEMENTS TO THE POLICE because that will put you in the position of incriminating yourself by admitting to possession of the hand gun without a valid license.
