Re: probation violation

The penalty for a violation of probation is the maximum allowed for the underlying charge.

This means, if you were charged with a crime that had a maximum penalty of 1 year in House of Corrections, then the judge could find you in violation of probation and sentence you up to a year in the house of corrections. This is not to say that the judge will do this but it is the maximum penalty allowed under the law.
