Legal Question in Criminal Law in Massachusetts

I put guns in my name

hello, i am a single mother of two children and one on the way. i was dating a guy he told me that he couldnt get a gun in his name. he was from mass and said he couldnt use his id. My self being stupid and inlove with a mentally abusive man put them in my name. We broke up and the guns were found in mass. they were traced back to me. I was questioned by atf and i fully cooperated with them. They mentioned to me that if i cooperated with them nothing would happen to me. I have to criminal record at all nothing is on my record. I dont even have a driving record. Well now that everything is almost over they are saying that i have to plea to a felony charge. I dont make much money and i have section eight. If i plea to this charge i will lose everything i am scared i am pregnant have a five year old and custody of a 16 year old i cant loose my home. I know i did wrong. Isnt there something else they could do besides giving me a felony charge.

Im scared and confused!

You should have asked to have a Public Defender appointed to represent and advise you BEFORE you ever spoke to them. You definitely should not speak further to them with an attorney and should immediately apply to the court where they are seeking a felony charge against you for appointment of a public defender.

DO NOT SPEAK WITH ANYONE ELSE BEFORE BEING REPRESENTED BY AN ATTORNEY. IF YOU CAN NOT AFFORD AN ATTORNEY WHEN YOU ARE CHARGED WITH A CRIME ASK THE COURT WHERE YOU ARE ARRAIGNED FOR A COURT APPOINTED ATTORNEY. DO NOT TALK TO POLICE OR ATF ANYMORE WITHOUT AN ATTORNEY!!!!!
