Legal Question in Criminal Law in Massachusetts

Restraining Order

I was detained yesterday (23 December 2008) at Miami in Immigration. I was told that a restraining order was issued against me on 13 December 2008. When I asked for details they said they had none, and that only the proof of order showed up on thier computer. Since I travel extensively for work and have no girlfriend, nor had one for sometime, can you please point me in the right direction becuase I need to clear this matter. Best regards and Happy Holidays

Re: Restraining Order

If you are still in Miami, I can refer you to an immigration attorney down there. It is possible your name got mixed up with another person (I have actually seen that happen). However, it would take a little digging at the court house and/or CORI.

If you are in Boston, you can reach me at six one seven three three one three one four one

Re: Restraining Order

You are right to question the relationship issue, but there are other types of relationships that meet 209A requirements besides girlfriends. I assume you are out to be writing an electronic question. Hire a MA lawyer who specializes in Criminal Defense and Domestic A&B type issues specificly. You need to clear the warrant. It will not go away without you surrendering to the court.
