restraining order violation

is it legal to be arrested for violating a restraining order you were never served? the original order was for 1 year there was no notification that that order was ever renewed,or extended- then almost 2 years later an arrest was made when there was n knowledge of a current order

is there such a thing as a lifetime restraining order

It's not illegal;

Yes there is a life time restraining order;

Some notice should have been given.

These cases really depend on the facts. You can be arrested for a RO that was not served, if you knew about it or should have known. In your case, because it was a renewal, there is at least on open question.

The problem is that the Commonwealth takes these cases very seriously, no matter how minor it might seem to you, so be careful.
