Legal Question in Criminal Law in Massachusetts

I have ring that's worth $12,000 engagement ring that my ex refuses to return along with other personal items. can i serve her a criminal complaint for larceny for the ring and the return of all my items? I do have a certificate for the ring and a jeweler to go to bat for me.

Most likely you would have to file a civil action as it appears there is no criminal intent in your case-you gave her the ring as an engagement present and she didn't steal the other items thus no criminal intent.
