Legal Question in DUI Law in Massachusetts

appeal cost for DUI case transcript

First can you return a transcript for an appeal of a dui case and get your money back? Second about how much would a lawyer charge for an appeal of a case that they just did and lost? The defendant was found not guilty of being impaired to drive and guilty of being over the legal limit, blood alcohol? The lawyer himself said that we got screwed.

Re: appeal cost for DUI case transcript

You cannot return them for money back... the cost is the cost of preparing the transcript from the audio recording.

An appeal is a very different animal from a trial and is governed by different Rules and Legal Standards for review of the court's rulings of law. They are detail oriented and time consuming and - depending on the issue being appealed, can be expensive.
