Legal Question in Entertainment Law in Massachusetts

Song Writers Royalties Compensations

How do I receive Compensation for stolen music that is being sold in the U.K.? I was part of a four piece band called ''Starbound'' in the mid 80's and we wrote a song called ''We can make it'' and its been 30 years and I recently came into contact with information (possitive information) regarding the song ''We can make it'' that is now being sold in Italy for the sum of $216 a single. The song has been classified as a ''Classic Hit''.

Re: Song Writers Royalties Compensations

Who recorded the song and who copyrighted it?

Are you a member of any of the song licensing groups such as BMG?

I would start by contacting the company that recorded the song and the companies that collect royalties for songs and songwriters. You might also contact the Song Writers Association.

Good Luck.
