Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

Complicated Child Custody Case

Submitted previously, but never received answer? Trying to make question as concise as can:

Daughter had substance abuse problem - biological aunt cajoled her into giving PERMANENT custody, not the temporary that daughter wanted. Aunt said if not permanent, DSS could step in and take the child. Promised visits and regular connection with the 9 year old (at that time) while my daughter got help. We all thought very generous..although aunt immediately put in to receive child's social security check from deceased father. It has been 18 months - daughter had to go to court to get visition rights - lawyer for aunt stated only supervised visits, which have been going well for 3 months.. until daughter refused to agree to aunt handing over custody of child to AUNT's Daughter.. 3 weeks in row, child who will be 11 next month, gets to visition center and then refuses to go in. Child does not want to see any of her mothers side of family - things have gotten contentious between us over last 18 months because of how aunt has put child in mental hospital for 2 weeks and a child behavioral center for 30 days and uses that as continued threat. We, grandparents, are not allowed to be alone with child -as we have asked questions!!

What do?

This is something that you need to consult an attorney. Under some conditions, the court will consider visitation rights.

If I missed something, let me know.
