: desertion

1. Report him to the police as a missing person;

2. change the keys to the house;

3. If you have children, file a request with DOR regarding child support; and

4. If you believe the marriage is over, file for divorce.

Re: desertion

You may file a divorce action right away and seek proper protection. If there are children, he will be ordered to pay child support. Locating him will be a small issue, but that is not too hard when one knows when and how to look.

If you are concerned that there will be renewed domestic violence, you can get a restraining order 24/7, either through the courts when open, or through the police and an on-call judge evenings and weekends.
