Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

I live in mass. where i share custody with my son's father. Am I legally bound to stay in mass. or is it reasonable to move to rhode island which is 15-20 mins from my ex's home to aquire a better school system for my son?

You should get permission from the father or from a Judge. As a general rule, a Judge should not consider a move to Rhode Island to be a problem as you will be close to the father.

What is reasonable to you may not be so to the father. Work with the father, and if not file in court for permission.
