Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

We live in Massachusetts and have a court appointed Parent Coordinator. The appointmnet is up for renewal and one parent decided they do not want the PC any longer. The other parent feels it has been beneficial. There is evidence to back the benefits of the intervention.

Is it only volunatrry in MA? Can a Judge still appoint a PC without the consent a\of both parents?
