Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

My minor daughter and I are traveling in the middle of June to Italy and Egypt with our church. My ex-husband gave her permission to go in an email. Now he is refusing to sign the necessary travel documents. I already paid for the trip and airfare. What can I do? We share physical custody. We live in Massachusetts.

If your ex-husband is refusing to give permission for your daughter to leave the country, you will need the court's assistance. You can file an emergency motion at the appropriate county family and probate court. This is definately something you will want to do immeditately.

You need to file an Emergency Motion with the Court to allow you and your daughter to travel to Italy. The Court unless your husband can give a valid reason for changing his mind, is likely to grant you permission and give you an order necessary to get whatever documents to go. Make sure you provide th court with a copy of the emails.
