Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

What are reasonable and neccesary medical expenses for children. Is it reasonable to go to the doctors 2x a month for things like dried up poison ivy. or birth control for your 16 year old daughter

It really depends on the circumstances. For instance the doctor could have requested follow-up visits for the poison ivy. Each doctor is different. Your daughter would not be charged for an office visit if she did not see the doctor. If she saw the doctor then the doctor may have done an annual PAP testing. Birth control may be a result of a medical condition. For both of these I would suggest that if you have joint legal custody you may contact the doctors directly to find out what was done and why. If you are ordered to split the cost very rarely does a parent ring up the bill as they have to pay half so it is probably legitimate but the doctor's office would clarify the issues for you. If you still believe it is not warranted then file papers in court.
